Sex Offender Notification
Notice posted May 08, 2007

The Illinois State Police host a website that houses the names, addresses, and other information on registered sex offenders. Please consider this formal notification that this information is available to monitor the location of sex offenders in Tonica, Leonore, Lowell, or any other location in Illinois.

The Illinois State Police website is www.isp.state.il.us/sor .

A second website with similar information is www.familywatchdog.us .

BUS INFORMATION
Notice posted Aug. 11, 2005

UPDATES BEGINNING THIS YEAR:

Please call the school in the morning if the bus does NOT need to stop at your home.

The bus arrangements made for the morning and afternoon at the beginning of the school year regarding your student will NOT be changed except in emergencies.

If your student will be picked up after school, a note MUST be sent in the morning to the teacher and bus driver.

Phone calls regarding bus changes are discouraged EXCEPT in emergencies. Each phone call causes disruption in the classrooms during valuable educational time. It is also very hard to notify all people who this affects (students, teachers, bus driver, etc.)  to ensure the safety and whereabouts of your child.
 

BUS INFORMATION ADDENDUM
Addendum Notice posted July 21, 2006

Transportation will be provided beginning the first day of preschool for students living in the Tonica District.

If your child will not be riding the bus on that day or at any time during the school year, we will need a call to the school or a note in advance.

We will be unable to make changes to bus arrangements throughout the school year.

We are all looking forward to a successful year!

Mandatory Exams Required
for Entry on 1^st Day of School 2008-2009

Kindergarten / Pre-School and any 1^st time Student

• Physical exam with all immunizations current

• Lead screening assessment

• Eye exam or waiver by an optometrist or an ophthalmologist

• Dental exam or waiver

Second Grade

• Dental exam or waiver

Fifth Grade

• No physical exam is required, unless a sports physical is needed.

Sixth Grade **

• Dental exam or waiver

• **For this year only, 2008-2009, no 6^th grade physical is mandatory, unless a sports physical is needed.

Miscellaneous Info :

• Any student participating in sports must have a physical each year. 

New Illinois State law for the 2008-2009 school year and going forward, any student entering an Illinois school for the 1^st time and all Kindergarten students will be required to have an eye exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. This exam must be completed by the 1^st day of school.

Change to Illinois State law, the physical requirement for 5^th grade students has been changed to entry into 6^th grade, however, for the incoming 6^th grade class for 2008-2009, this will be waived,  unless a sports physical is needed.

**For the 2009-2010 school year it will be mandatory for all 6^th grade students
to have a physical before the 1^st day of school.

 If any/all of the exams are completed over the summer, you can bring the form(s) to registration in August.

Registration for all students will be held on Tuesday, August 5, from Noon thru 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, August 6, from 8:00 AM thru 3:00 PM at Tonica Grade School. Please bring certified birth certificates, physicals with immunization records, and social security numbers when registering any new students to the district. Fees will be collected as follows:

	* Includes 1st month tuition and snack milk fee
GRADES K - 8
Kindergarten		$40.00/Year Milk and $60.00/year Book Fees
Grs. 1st thru 8th		$60.00 Book Fees
Grs. 5-8 PE Clothes		$16.00 per set
Grs. 7-8 Science Fair Fee		$10.00
Lunch		$1.90 per Day
Breakfast		$1.00 per Day
Grades 3-8		$5.00 Assignment Book
